Students Working Actively on Imagery
The pictures on the linked pages show two separate classes working on imagery. The approach is similar in both.
The text is broken into sense units which are enlarged, photocopied and stuck onto card.
Students are broken into "acting companies" and each given a unit to work on. They have to devise
suitable actions to go with the "pictures in the mind" created by Shakespeare's words.
They can ask as many questions as they like while preparing for their performances.
Year 7 (6th. Grade) working on "The Seven Ages of Man" from "As You Like It"
Year 9 (8th. Grade) working on Lord Capulet's speech from "Romeo and Juliet" 3,5: "When the sun sets, the earth doth
drizzle dew."
